The artist was born in 1966 and completed his primary and secondary school education in Fatih. He is a graduate of Anadolu University, Faculty of Business Administration.

He started his first calligraphy work with Rika Calligraphy with his teacher Mehmet Gökçe. Afterwards, he studied the writings of Thuluth and Nesih with Abdullah Gün. He continues to work as a financial advisor, which is his main profession.

The artist, who continues his calligraphy works in his workshop "Kağıthane Sanat" in Fatih Kıztaşı, continues the produce "paper adjustment and soot ink” by traditional paper making techniques which is an integral part of calligraphy​.

He has his own ink brand “KÖHNE”. He tried to meet the needs in traditional calligraphy field by producing "smoke ink” without using chemicals.

He continues to give calligraphy and "paper making” classes.
